The Wall Street Journal seeks a reporter to cover the corporate governance and legal aspects of deals and dealmaking.

The reporter, part of the Journal & DJX deals team, will be expected to write about often-overlooked but critically important deal terms, and the tactics and strategies behind them. The beat also involves coverage of lawsuits and rulings on deals and the judges and lawyers involved in them.

The beat includes both breaking news and features and entails working with others on the deals team. The position is based in New York. Prior financial or corporate reporting experience required. The ideal candidate is a proven news breaker who also has a demonstrated ability to write conceptual enterprise pieces. Experience covering markets, deals or companies is required.
