Reuters seeks White House correspondent

Reuters is looking for a White House correspondent for its Washington bureau.

Write detailed, accurate and insightful stories on U.S. politics with special focus on the White House and the President. Cover the President’s domestic agenda, foreign policy and political issues. Serve as a member of a team of journalist tasked with covering the President and political issues surrounding the White House. Cover spot news from the Executive Branch, for breaking exclusive news and providing analysis of presidential actions with specific focus on health care and energy issues.

Write news alerts in real-time as they happen that meet with the company’s editorial style and standards. Assess news sources to determine newsworthiness and write accurate, insightful stories based on the data, often under tight time and competitive pressures.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field plus 5 years of progressive experience as a journalist/reporter with a major international news agency. Experience reporting on politics, agricultural policy and trade policy and regulations. Experience reporting on energy and environmental policy.
