WSJ names editorial staff for CFO Journal

Michael Hickins, who has been editing the WSJ Professional edition, has been named editor of the CFO Journal, according to a posting on the Wall Street Journal’s website.

The CFO Journal is a web-based subscription service launched by WSJ.com aimed at corporate finance officers and providing coverage of accounting, tax, regulation, capital markets, banking, management and strategy issues. It costs $49 a month.

Other CFO Journal staffers are:

Matthew Quinn is deputy editor. He has covered commercial banking, investment banking and corporate cash management as a reporter and editor. Prior to journalism, he was a financial analyst in the publishing industry.

Emily Chasan is a senior editor, covering accounting and capital markets. She previously covered accounting, restructuring, hedge funds and the U.S. stock market at Reuters before joining the Journal in 2011. Emily has a degree in economics and international relations from Tufts University.

Vipal Monga is a senior editor responsible for capital markets and corporate finance coverage. He joined the Journal in 2011. He was previously a senior writer covering capital markets, mergers and private equity for The Deal Magazine.

James Willhite is a news editor for CFO Journal and the Wall Street Journal online. He joined the Journal in 2006 and has written about financial markets and corporate finance. He studied philosophy at the University of Michigan and earned a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.

David Hall is a news editor for CFO Journal and the Wall Street Journal online. He has been a WSJ editor based in Hong Kong for more than a decade.

Maxwell Murphy is a senior editor for CFO Journal who joined the Journal in 2011. He was previously an equities columnist and reporter for nearly 12 years with Dow Jones Newswires, most recently covering specialty retailers. Max has a degree in American studies from the University of Notre Dame.

Read more here. UPDATE: Hickins is the interim editor after the departure of Ronald Fink last month. The Journal is seeking a new editor for CFO Journal. Hickins will become the editor of the CIO Journal when it launches in early 2012.
