Jimmy Holmes has been named the new publisher of the San Antonio Business Journal, an American City Business Journals paper, effective Sept. 30.

David Hendricks of the San Antonio Express writes, “Holmes comes to San Antonio from Houston, where he was executive director of sales and strategic development with Hearst Media, focusing on national multimarket advertisers. He oversaw print, digital and insert sales for the San Antonio Express-News and the Hearst daily newspapers in Houston and San Francisco.

“Prior to that position, Holmes served as director of advertising — retail multimarket and local majors for three years. He started with Hearst as major account sales manager for the Houston Chronicle in 2005.

“Holmes also worked for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in a variety of ad sales positions.

“Holmes replaces Kent Krauss, who is retiring after a 30-year career with American City Business Journals.”
