Greg Dawson, who has written a workplace column for the Orlando Sentinel for the past year, is leaving the paper. He has accepted a buyout from the paper.

“Wow – where did the 45 years go? (five newspapers, six states),” said Dawson in an email to Talking Biz News. “I’ve been doing the Working column almost a year, after 9 years as the consumer columnist, several as metro columnist, and 8 as TV critic (all those at the Sentinel). No specific plans now except to write a book about – don’t laugh – the development of Crest toothpaste (with fluoride) in my hometown of Bloomington, Ind. I was one of the Crest Kids in the test group.”

Dawson has previously written a consumer column for the paper called “The Last Resort.”

Dawson was previously the consumer columnist for the Indianapolis Star from 2000 to 2003. He also worked for the Sentinel from 1986 to 2000.

He moved his act back to the Sentinel in 2003 and began writing a three-times-a-week column, which ran on Thursday in the business section, Saturday in the Home Front section, and Sunday in the Your Money section.

“Working” ran on Wednesdays.
