David Bird, who covers energy issues for Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal, has been reported missing in New Jersey.

Justin Zaremba of NJ.com writes, “Bird, 55, was last seen at 4 p.m. on Saturday after leaving his Millington residence on Long Hill Road on foot, Long Hill Police Lt. Ahmed Naga said.

“Naga said a family member reported him missing after he failed to return from his walk, and that the search began Saturday night.

“Bird is known for walking the trails on Hicks Tract in Millington, police said.

“Authorities began searching for Bird Saturday evening — suspending operations only after it became too dark outside — and then reconvened the search at 5 a.m. Sunday with approximately 200 people searching the area on foot, Naga said.”
