CNBC hires Sullivan from Fox Business

CNBC managing editor Nik Deogun sent out the following announcement to the staff on Friday afternoon:

I am pleased to announce that Brian Sullivan will join CNBC’s on-air team, effective May 2nd. Previously, Brian was an anchor at FOX Business Network (FBN).

Prior to joining FBN, he spent 11 years at Bloomberg Television where he held various positions including anchor, writer, editor, on-air reporter and stocks editor. Brian’s July 2007 special, “Subprime Shockwaves,” won the New York CPA Society Excellence in Financial Journalism award. He began his career trading chemical commodities for Mitsubishi International.

Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Virginia Tech, a certificate in journalism from New York University School of Continuing Education, and a law degree from Brooklyn Law School.

Brian brings 15 years of experience in financial journalism to CNBC. He has done an excellent job reporting on some of the biggest global business stories and making them relevant to the investor class. Please join me in welcoming him to CNBC.
